Here are loads of music festivals that take place across the U.S each and every year. What follows is a roundup of some of the best musical festivals that take place. Some of the entries are just music related festivals while others are a little different.
Summerfest
The tagline of the Summerfest festival is “The World’s Largest Music Festival” and this is no bold claim. The festival boasts 11 stages, over 800 acts, over 1,000 performances and 900,000 festival goers. As you can tell it’s a huge festival, which has of course made a Guinness World Record. If you want to attend this festival, it’s held at the end of June to early July in Milwaukee.
The Governors Ball
This festival sounds like a posh political do, which couldn’t be any further from the truth. The Governors Ball is a three-day festival that takes place on Randall’s Island, Manhattan. Artists from various genres travel here to play to the huge crowd. When festival goers want to take a little break from the music, there are lots of fun things to do such as play lawn games, play ping-pong and attend a silent disco!
Electric Forest
The Electric Forest Festival is a four-day, multi-genre festival that takes place in Rothbury, Michigan. The festival is well known for it’s out of this world light shows and unique festival experience. A famous saying about the festival is that “You walk into the Forest to lose yourself, but instead end up truly finding yourself”, which is pretty deep for a music festival. When festival goers want to kick back away from the music, there are tons of things they can do. For example, there is a water park, a horse riding course, a golf course and hammocks for people to relax in.
Rock On The Range
Rock on the Range is a festival that takes place in two venues; The Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio and Canad Inns Stadium in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It takes place annually but is a fairly new festival as it only became established in 2007. The majority of the artists are mainstream rock bands, and there is a tradition that a classic band usually headlines the festival. A great thing about this festival is the locations, and when you’re not attending the event you can wander around and look for things such as Columbus Ohio musical instruments and other festival inspired events.
Hot 97’s Summer Jam
Summer Jam is a huge hip-hop festival that takes place in June each year in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The reason that the festival is called Hot 97’s Summer Jam is because the U.S radio station Hot 97 FM, which is based in New York, sponsors the event each and every year. This festival is well known for being one of the biggest and best hip-hop festivals out there. So if you’re a huge hip-hop fan and want to see some of the best talents out there you need to attend this festival.
Halloween Festival Of The Dead
The Festival of the Dead takes place over the course of a week in October in Salem, Massachusetts. The town in which the festival is held is one that is famous for conducting a lot of famous witch trials back in the day. There’re loads of great things to do during this festival including getting your fortune told, getting a tarot card reading and hunting ghosts. If you’re interesting in all things supernatural, this festival is where you should go this Halloween.
